This album is in my opinion an unusual and excellent blend of grindcore, sludge, death metal, probably much more. I found myself energized by the fast and heavy passages, the many changes of pace. But most notable are the interspersed, more quiet, moody to grim parts. Overall I enjoyed the variety provided by this album quite a lot.
Favorite track: Made of Coal.

Bought this thing on my laptop to listen to during my 80 minute classes. It’s the only thing loud enough to drown out my teachers. It’s become kind of an everyday listen for me at this point. With every listen I realize more and more that Caustic is the heaviest record ever made.

A visceral experience, "Guiltless" is about as real as doom metal gets. Similar to fellow Chicago noise masters (and shared bandmates) Lord Mantis, this band just does not give a shit about fitting in - this is who they are. They drop in some melodicism in "The Fate Before Fate" to crushing effect. But the heaviest and greatest moment is the fadeout riff 5 minutes into "No Grace." When those drums kick in... jesus. I would absolutely give anything to see this played live. Maybe someday, right!
